Hoy me daba la risa al leer en un conocido blog que en las conferencias de San José se ha mencionado que el nofollow ha dado un resultado útil para la actividad de los buscadores. Efectivamente, para la actividad de los buscadores. No para el Spam, como nos lo vendieron los buscadores y muchos blogs.

A: Most Webmasters say PR is not as important. Google has always said there are many variables in the algo and they keep evolving. Very few people outside of a search engine can say exactly how valuable a specific link is from a page. In Matt’s opinion, the nofollow has been a very valuable thing for the search engines. It gives the Webmaster the ability to say if I vouch for this link. So now we have this new type of data the search engines can use, he said its being used very responsibly. If you can authenticate or trust a comment poster, then there is no reason to use the nofollow.

Efectivamente, el nofollow es una gran utilidad para los buscadores. Pero una vez más, no para parar el Spam. No confundamos a los lectores (a los tuyos, los míos saben bastante de este tema ).

Precisamente veamos lo que dice Matt Cutts:

Matt Cutts was next up and he asks the audience a few questions. He then brings up the history of the Indexing Summit where Danny guilt-tripped the search engines to work together. It encourages Google Sitemaps for a paid inclusion, without the money, and any search engine can use the sitemaps standard. The robots.txt is from ages ago, and a good standard, nofollow attribute. He then moves into the redirect issue, like Danny did. A year ago, Google picked the URL with the highest PageRank.

No habla de parar spam en blogs, habla del nofollow como herramienta con diferentes usos. Herramienta complementaria para mejorar la indexación (robots.txt, sitemap…). Es fantástico.

¿Alguien todavía no se ha dado cuenta de que los buscadores utilizaron los blogs para popularizar su nofollow? Os han utilizado, y los grandes beneficiados somos los que nos dedicamos a estos temas, que somos los que le quitamos partido a la herramienta. Algunos no tardamos mucho en utilizar el nofollow para que Google no indexase las páginas “Add Url” de los directorios. Es la mejor forma de eliminar duplicados y evitar penalizaciones. A día de hoy lo utilizan una buena parte de directorios. ¡Coño, que tendrá eso que ver con el Spam!.

Gromka me confirma en los comentarios de It’s a myth que Yahoo! está pasando del nofollow, algo que también he visto en logs. Fantástico, ¿dónde está el consenso entre buscadores? ¿Por qué Yahoo! no lo hace público? ¿Sabes que Yahoo! no tenía tantos problemas de indexación como tenía Google a finales de 2004 y comienzos de este año? ¿Sabes que Google consume menos ancho de banda en grandes webs que antes con el consiguiente ahorro de recursos?

Hay dos clases de blogs: los que dan noticias sin más, y los que las analizan. Si no eres ni un hombre de ciencia, ni un hombre de fe… ¿dónde está tú lugar?

Supongo que recordarás cuando criticaste anónimamente mi calificación de “Aberración” sobre el nofollow para los blogs.

Aberrración: 1.- Desvío aparente de los Astros. 2.- Defecto de las lentes que producen una visión defectuosa. 3.- (Figurativo) Desvío de lo tenido por justo y normal. (Pequeño Larousse ilustrado, edición de 1986).

Los Astros son los buscadores. El que tiene problema con las lentes eres tú y la élite, y lo que se desvía de lo justo es el engaño generalizado.
